Memorial Hospital has been recognized for the 9th year in a row by The Chartis Center for Rural Health as a 2023 Top 100 Critical Access Hospital in the United States. This annual recognition program honors outstanding performance among the nation's rural hospitals based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX.
Memorial Hospital’s, Roger Reamer, CEO commended the team for this accomplishment. “It is a great honor to be recognized for the 9th year in a row as a leader in health care through the Chartis Center for Rural Health. With over 1,320 critical access hospitals in the US, we take pride in this recognition. But more so, we take pride in the compassion and quality care our team members deliver to our patients each day,” Reamer stated.

Now in its 13th year, the INDEX has established itself as the industry's most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. Leveraging publicly available data, the INDEX is trusted by rural hospitals, health systems with rural affiliates, hospital associations and state offices of rural health across the country to measure and monitor performance across a variety of areas impacting hospital operations and finance.
