MHCS Welcomes Kurt Schmeckpeper PA-C

Memorial Health Care Systems welcomes Physician Assistant Kurt Schmeckpeper to our medical team and community of Seward.

Kurt was born and raised in Pender, NE. His interest in healthcare began at a young age as his mom and aunt worked in healthcare. Also influential in his career path was a hometown Physician Assistant and Kurt's experiences as a nurse aid while still in high school.

Kurt earned a Bachelor's Degree from Wayne State College in Exercise Science-Athletic Training and graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Kurt's goal as a care provider is to deliver effective and efficient medical care from young to old, 8 days to 98+ years while conveying a compassionate and professional attitude.

Kurt has spent the last 14 years providing care at Crete Area Medical Center in Crete, NE. Kurt will begin at MHCS on December 6th and will be accepting appointments in mid-December. He will be providing emergency care through the Emergency Department, assisting patients with chronic disease care management, working with his patients on their health and wellness, and caring for walk-in/sick visits.

Kurt's wife Shannon is the Director of Special Services for Seward Public Schools. Kurt, his wife, and their three children will be moving to Seward just after the new year. Kurt and his family are thrilled to be in Seward and are looking forward to being a part of the MHS family and the Seward community.
