Nebraska Hospital Association names Reamer as Excellence in Service Award Recipient

The Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) recognized Roger Reamer, MBA, Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Health Care Systems with the Excellence in Service Award on October 16, 2019. More than 250 people were in attendance at The NHA Awards Banquet held at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in La Vista.

The Excellence in Service Award is the NHA’s highest honor. There are many hospital executives who benefit their communities through their commitment to health care excellence. This award is presented to a hospital/health system administrator or senior executive who has demonstrated outstanding administrative skills, professional performance, health care organization involvement and significant leadership. 

Reamer has a rich history in health care and leadership spanning nearly 30 years of dedication to rural health. The last 20 years of his career have been dedicated to leading and growing Memorial Health Care Systems in Seward, NE. Memorial Health Care Systems’ has exceeded expectations and national benchmarks. Under Roger’s leadership, Memorial Hospital has been recognized by the National Rural Health Association for Best Practice Quality, the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health for Performance Leadership, iVantage and Becker’s Hospital Review as a top Critical Access Hospital. Becker’s Hospital Review has also recognized Roger as one of the top Critical Access Hospital CEO’s to Know from 2015 to present.

Roger’s leadership expands beyond Memorial Health Care System through his activities on countless local, state, regional and national health care boards. Roger has been the President of the Rural Comprehensive Care Network of Nebraska (RCCN) for 22 years, has been an active member of Prairie Health Ventures GPO for 17 years, was instrumental in establishing 4 Corners Public Health Department and has been on its board for 16 years. He also serves on the Bryan College of Health and Sciences Board and the Bryan Health Connect PHO Board. Reamer is President of the NPG Health Collaborative, and is an active member of the Seward County Chamber & Development. He is a past board member for the State of Nebraska Board of Health, American Hospital Association, Nebraska Hospital Association, UNMC Board of Councilors, BRIDGES – Seward Economic Development and has served as a Teammates Mentor.

Roger is quick to recognize the founders of Memorial Hospital, the leaders before him and the team he has with him which have created a solid foundation for the organization. Roger has led MHCS in its mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals in our communities by providing excellence in health care services in the most appropriate settings. Under Roger’s leadership MHCS offers Seward County and surrounding community members beautiful state of the art facilities, all while improving outcomes and value for all patients. Roger has utilized his extensive years of serving on local, state, regional and national health care boards to strengthen rural health care. His substantial efforts have positioned Memorial Health Care Systems to be successful well into the future.
