Seward Family Medical Center Welcomes Jay Brooks, PA-C

Raymond, NE native, Jay Brooks always knew he liked science, but it wasn’t until his senior year at Wesleyan that Jay shadowed a Physician Assistant and knew he wanted to care for patients. “I knew becoming a PA was what I should do because each day working with the Physician Assistant never felt like it was work,” Jay said. This opportunity solidified his career path and Jay quickly enrolled in the PA program with UNMC and began his journey into health care.  "I like the variety that family practice PA’s have and enjoy working in the Emergency Room," stated Jay.

Jay received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Nebraska Wesleyan University and Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The past two years, Jay worked in a family practice clinic and emergency department in Broken Bow, Nebraska.

While he enjoyed his role and experience in Broken Bow, moving back towards his hometown, his family, and practicing in Seward is his ideal opportunity. "The reputation for Seward’s Memorial Health Care Systems is known around the state for its quality and patient-focused practice. I look forward to the sense of community Seward has to offer.” Jay said.

Jay will join the Seward Family Medical Center in January. In his role as an MHCS Physician Assistant, Jay will serve the Seward community alongside Dr. Joel Gabriel, Dr. Jacqueline Hobbs, Dr. J.B. Ketner, Dr. Connie Novak, Dr. James Plasek, Dr. Jason Summa, Dr. Robert Wall, and Dr. Robert Wergin; and will provide Memorial Hospital emergency room coverage.
